IT Services is aware that staff and students may have received an email from SafeZone on Wednesday 5 March 2025.
We can confirm it was not spam or a phishing simulation, however, the email was unfortunately sent in error.
Our IT Security team has removed the erroneous email from the majority of inboxes that received the email.
Thank you to those University members who reported this by forwarding the email to phishingalert@liverpool.ac.uk – your vigilance is appreciated.
SafeZone is a free safety and wellbeing app, endorsed by the University, that allows you to contact Campus Support Services for assistance 24 hours a day, seven days a week when you’re on campus. This University news article explains exactly how to download and use the app.
Staff are also encouraged to watch the recording of the Staff Open Meeting (which took place on Monday 3 March) to learn more about the cyber security efforts the University is undertaking to keep you and the University’s data safe.
Please accept our apologies for any inconvenience or concern caused, and our thanks for your commitment to cyber security.
